电动机带动转鼓旋转，物料由上部加入无孔转鼓，在离心力作用下，较重的固相物沉积在转鼓壁形成沉渣层，轻相物形成内层液环，澄清后的内层液相物可翻过拦液板溢流出转鼓，也可用撇液管在运转中引出转鼓，固相物则在停机后人工从转鼓上部卸出。
A motor drives the basket to rotate, the material being fed into the basket without holes. Under the centrifugal force, the heavier solid phase sinks on the walls of the basket as a layer of cake and the lighter liquid phase forms inner liquid ring. The clarified inner liquid ring can outflow the lip ring and then the basket, and it also can be led out of the basket in its rotation with a skimming pipe, while the solid phase is discharged manually from the top of the basket after the machine stops.

SSC系列离心机是一种三足式上部卸料，间歇操作沉降离心机。该系列离心机转鼓壁无滤孔，操作时不需滤布。适合含固相物颗粒细、粘度大、浓度低、过滤介质再生困难、固相物比重大于液相物的悬浮液的固液分离，所以常用于采用离心过滤难于分离或澄清液达不到要求的场合。
SSC Series are a kind of the three-column top discharge batch sedimenting centrifuge. The basket walls of this series have no holes, so no filter cloth is needed. The machine can be used for the solid-liquid separation of the suspension with fine particles of solid phase, great viscosity and low concentration, which has difficulty in regenerating filter medium and whose solid phase specific gravity is bigger than its liquid phase. Thus, the machine is often used on the occasion where separation is not easy to attain with centrifugal filtration or clarified effluent is not satisfactory.
