转印膜印刷采用网点印刷（分辨率达300dpi），将图案预先印在薄膜表面，印刷的图案层次丰富、色彩鲜艳，千变万化，色差小，再现性好，能达到设计图案者的要求效果，并且适合大批量生产；

代替传统刺绣及丝网印花，以及丝网花不能达至的相片（柯式）印刷效果。直接转到衣着成品，而无需预先半成品处理。
热转印把图案或文字内容直接融入布料，变为没有一个实体的卷标，减低了与人体接触而导致对皮肤的刺激，这个特性令它成为某类服装的最理想标签;例如是运动服，童装等。此外，热转印的使用非常简单而且成本相对较低，却能大大加强服装的吸引力。
